Chronic Pain where do I start?
My pain story began 10 years ago. It started with typical physical discomforts in my lower back. I went to the doctor, and they said I needed back surgery. Time passed, and my pain spread. My feet began to hurt also. It worsened slowly and I needed help. Doctors after doctors tried but no Help. This is about you and how I need to help you, I need you to see beyond your pain. I had borderline Epilepsy for four years and for 20 years bad migraines that sent me to the hospital. I am a diabetic. And have Neuropathy in both feet. I take 2 whirlpool baths every day to help with the pain. Both legs hurt every inch of them constantly 24 hours a day, my tailbone is the worst it constantly gives me pain, every 2 hours I need to put Hot pepper cream on it to ease the pain and it burns.
My chronic pain impacted my mental well-being, leading to conditions such as anxiety and depression. I had no coping strategies or treatment options that could help me. I was very lost. I did not know what to do so I kneeled and prayed. I was so desperate at many times to give up on my life. Something deep down inside told me to go to Light University to get all of my certificates to help people with chronic pain. LU is a Christian university, and I am a Christian.
Living with chronic pain can be overwhelming, but it doesn't have to Be. I have implemented these five strategies - mindfulness and meditation, physical activity and exercise, pain management techniques, lifestyle modifications, and support systems. This helped control my pain and improve my overall quality of life.
