Chronic Pain where do I start?
My odyssey with pain kicked off a decade back with some pesky back aches. A doc's visit later, I'm on the operating table for back surgery. Fast forward, and now my feet have joined the pain party. Despite a parade of doctors, relief was like a shy cat – nowhere to be found. But hey, my saga's not just a sob story; it's a beacon of hope for fellow pain warriors. I've tangoed with epilepsy, danced with migraines for a 20-year marathon, and even had some hospital sleepovers. As a sugar-monitoring enthusiast (aka diabetic) with tingly toes, I'm a VIP in the whirlpool bath club – twice daily, no less. My legs? They're in a 24-hour pain rave, and my tailbone's the DJ spinning the hits of hurt. My secret sauce? Hot pepper cream – it's the fire to my ice, applied religiously every two hours.
Mental health took a rollercoaster ride thanks to this uninvited guest called chronic pain, with pit stops at Anxiety and Depression. I was lost in the sauce without a map or a compass, thinking about the big exit. But then, a little birdie told me to hit the books at Light University, grabbing certificates to be a pain whisperer for others. LU's got that Christian vibe that jives with my spirit.
Chronic pain's a beast, but I've got it on a leash. My fab five strategies? Mindfulness with a side of zen, shaking my booty with some exercise, pain zapping tricks, swapping bad habits for good ones, and rallying a cheer squad. These moves keep me grooving through life with a bit more sparkle.
